Who Gives A Crap is a global impact-brand that sells sustainable household paper products and donates 50% of its profits to build toilets and improve sanitation in the developing world.
Since raising seed-money by sitting on a toilet for 50 hours in 2012 for a crowd-funding campaign, Simon Griffiths (after a good night’s sleep), Jehan Ratnatunga and Danny Alexander have successfully scaled both the company’s product offering – from toilet paper initially, to facial tissues, paper towels and dishcloths – and its global operations. Who Gives A Crap now sells via its direct-to-consumer platform in three continents and distributes products in stores across Australia and independent grocers in the US.
Verlinvest led Who Gives a Crap’s $41m AUD Series A round, in its first external fundraise since founding.
