Akhil Agarwal

I am a commerce graduate from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, as well as a Chartered Accountant and have completed the CFA course.

I began my career as an M&A consultant advising on financial due diligence projects with Alvarez & Marsal and KPMG, primarily covering the consumer sector. I then had an interesting stint at the Indian School of Business where I worked with one of the professors on corporate and government consulting projects with an opportunity to be a part of the consulting team for Union Budget 2021.

I joined Verlinvest after a year’s exposure at IIFL’s Private Equity team where I spent time evaluating both early and late-stage opportunities across sectors – including leading two of their largest exits and two late-stage investments.

I’m really excited about the overall consumer and consumer-tech sectors. At Verlinvest, I spend most of my time sourcing and evaluating deals, executing investment projects, and engaging with our portfolio companies in India.

Outside of work, I enjoy travelling – especially trekking (completed 20+ treks) – playing badminton, and board games.
