Originally from Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, I studied in the UK and hold a BSc in Economics from the University of Warwick and an MPhil in Finance & Economics from the University of Cambridge.
Keen to understand how successful businesses work, I started my career in consulting, first at PwC and then at Bain & Company’s Southeast Asia office. At Bain, I was a core member of the consumer products practice and worked with large FMCG companies in all aspects of their business, ranging from corporate strategy to cultural transformation. I also spent time within the Private Equity Group and conducted diligence in the consumer, energy and tech sectors.
From these experiences, I saw again and again that challenger brands globally were disrupting traditional industries with their revolutionary products, and decided this was a revolution I wanted to be a part of – which ultimately led me to joining Verlinvest.
At Verlinvest, I spend my time looking for promising companies in the consumer product, consumer tech and healthcare sectors across SEA and India. I also work closely with our portfolio companies Heads Up For Tails and Lahori.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me traveling, doing water sports or playing board/card games with friends. Fun fact: I played so much poker as an undergrad I decided to write my thesis on it – which somehow got a First!
