Gilles Vanhouwe

I graduated with a master’s degree in civil engineering and decided to start my career in strategy consulting at Bain & Company. I had the privilege of working across five continents while at Bain, serving blue chip clients in CPG and Retail for nearly 10 years. Along the way, I gathered operational experience working for Mars Inc. as a Retail Marketing Manager for Pet Care.

In 2018, I decided to move back to Brussels and joined the investment team at Verlinvest. During my years at Verlinvest, I have leveraged my experience in B2C to lead several investments in different asset classes (venture, growth, buy-out) and get involved in portfolio management of several companies in the portfolio, such as Vita Coco and Mutti.

Today, I lead our activities in the Benelux and our pet care sector coverage for Europe. Most of my time is dedicated to our investments in Tom & Co (pet retail) and Nesto (vet clinics), and sourcing new opportunities.
