Gilles Vanhouwe

I graduated with a masters degree in civil engineering, but decided to start my career in strategy consulting at Bain & Company. I had the privilege of working across all five continents while at Bain, serving blue chip clients in CPG and Retail for nearly 10 years. Along the way, I got a taste of corporate life while working for Mars Pet Care as Trade Marketing Manager. In 2018, I reinvented myself as a (growth) investor after moving back to Brussels. I joined the Verlinvest team in the Summer of that year.
Today, I still leverage my experience in CPG and Retail, but also love venturing into new territory and bringing Verlinvest along (e.g. in eHealth, eGrocery, eBikes, eSports, …). The lines are blurring across industries, categories and countries, creating a ton of new opportunities for consumer-revolution investors like us. I keep a close eye on what happens in BeNeLux and work most closely with our portfolio companies Tom & Co, Mutti and Nesto.
